Welcome to Moremi Game Reserve!
Visiting the Moremi Game Reserve is the ultimate way to experience the fantastic wildlife of the Okavango Delta. So pack your binoculars, camera, swimsuit and smile and take the safari adventure of a lifetime to this unique and very special place on earth!
The Moremi Game Reserve is a conservation area that protects approximately 3000 square kilometres of the Okavango Delta, and is therefore a prime location for safari enthusiasts. It has a truly diverse landscape of spacious grasslands, deep forests, wetlands and large floodplains, and these areas attract vast numbers of wild animals. The reserve also includes the Mopane Tongue, a large dry peninsula that juts into the Delta.
Many say that this reserve is the finest place to view elephant, buffalo, different types of antelope, a beautiful variety of birdlife and even large numbers of the highly endangered wild dog. Since the Delta encompasses plenty of water, crocodiles are regularly seen on the riverbanks and hippos wallowing in deeper waters are not an uncommon sight. The water is one of the reserve’s greatest assets, as tens of thousands of animals come here in search of refreshment when the rest of Botswana is in its dry season. Floodwaters from further locations ensure that the water is high during the months of June to September.
