Overview and Accommodation
Soon to be a world heritage site, the pristine wilds of the Okavango Delta reaches across more than 16 000 square kilometres – it is the largest inland river delta and is roughly the size of Uruguay, Syria or Senegal!
A permanent life giving swamp, the Okavango Delta rises in the Angolan Highlands, and enters Botswana below Namibia’s Caprivi Strip region. It was once a part of Lake Makgadikgadi, but is now home to over 200 000 large mammals, many of which migrate during the summer rains and return during the cooler and dryer winter months.
Mapula Lodge, wrapped around the trunks of the African hardwoods has a panoramic view which engulfs you into the wonders of the Delta. Private decks, shaded under the canopy of the Water Fig Tree and the Albizia, provides you with the ideal ambiance for high tea or sundowners.

Each with an en-suite bathroom, complete open air shower and a traditional zinc bath tub. These exquisite rooms either have large double beds or two spacious single beds, a lounge area and private deck.

Mapula Lodge Reviews
“We SO excited to be going on safari in the Okavango, and were, amazingly, not in the slightest bit disappointed. Mapula lodge is lovely, well situated near a water lily/ hippo pool, facing West for gorgeous sunsets.” – PS1234500
“Like the rest of this small private game park, set in the Okavanga Delta, the public loo has a wonderful view of a lush lagoon or pool, with it’s resident hippos, flights of birds, herds of animals, all coming close to graze and drink the cool, clear water. Our guides Costa and Carl were awesome!” – donstel2
“We had a wonderful stay at Mapula, the team at Mapula were great, our guide and tracker went to great lengths to ensure we experienced all the Delta has to offer. Food and beverages were plentiful and nothing was too much trouble.” – JohnandJudy244
