Machaba Camp is situated in the game rich Khwai area, on the eastern tongue of the Okavango Delta.

Constructed on the same site as the previous Machaba camp. The name Machaba is the local Setswana name for the Sycamore Fig Tree, the tree of life. The Machaba tree abounds in the Okavango Delta and most African riverine forests. Machaba trees are renowned for their abundant fruit, which feed a vast array of animals throughout the year, including elephant, baboons, bush buck, green pigeons and many more.

Machaba Camp Reviews

“We were made very welcome at the Machaba camp by Karl, Tess and Richard. Team were always present and approachable and made every effort to make our stay enjoyable. The main area overlooked a river, where elephants could be seen to wander.” – TallandSporty

“What an amazing stay! Everything was perfect. I’ve been ‘glamping’ a few times in Australia but this was on another level – we were so impressed. The tents were huge, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. It felt very luxurious. We loved the game drives each day. The camp is surrounded by very beautiful bushland and there was plenty to see.” – Lauren C

“Thank you to Shaun and Elcke and the rest of the Machaba Team for making our stay so amazing. You all went out of your way in every regard to make us feel at home. We had two super great game drives. Wild dog, Leopard, Lion, Loads of Elephants, Zebra and even a python just to name a few.” – George_Teessen
