Immerse yourself in the extravagant surroundings of Little Mombo Camp’s wildlife and luxury.
Set in the shade of enormous trees, Little Mombo Camp is perfectly positioned at the heart of the Okavango Delta and offers some of the best game viewing in Botswana. The little sister of legendary Mombo Camp and situated on the same game-packed island, Little Mombo Camp – with only three luxurious tented suites in camp – offers a far more intimate safari experience and is ideal for honeymooners and romantics or groups of friends and family.
Explore your spectacular surroundings on morning and afternoon game drives accompanied by professional and highly knowledgeable guides. Keep your eyes open for big game such as lion, elephant, buffalo and an even keener eye out for Mombo’s rarer species such as rhino, wild dog and cheetah. After an exciting day of game viewing, you can relax and cool off in the swimming pool and enjoy sundowners and snacks at the bar or around the traditional campfire.
A Private Luxury Safari Camp
Little Mombo Camp is also situated on Mombo Island and is an extension to Mombo Camp, built under the shade of large trees and overlooking part of the same floodplain as Mombo Camp itself. Little Mombo Camp, however, is all about privacy – the three tented guest rooms are a fair distance from the rest of the camp and it has private communal areas (all in the same design and feel as Mombo) and a private plunge pool.
Just as at Mombo Camp, the connecting walkways are up to two metres off the ground, allowing game to wander freely through Little Mombo Camp – but at the same time allowing for guest safety. The dining room, bar and living area overlook the open plain in front of the camp and there is a plunge pool for relaxing in the heat of the day.
Little Mombo Rooms
The rooms themselves are designed in exactly the same way as Mombo Camp with vast luxurious tented accommodations that look over the floodplains, huge four poster beds, en suite bathrooms, outside showers and private salas for siestas midday siestas.
Little Mombo’s beautifully decorated central area consists of a lounge and dining area overlooking the floodplain in front of camp. You can enjoy a meal or a drink here while gazing out over this unique landscape although the small library and reading room – built into enormous tree trunks – has arguably the best view in camp.
Raised wooden decks surround the central area and provide an excellent vantage point for watching passing animals and ticking off dozens of bird species. The deck leads down to the firepit and traditional boma, the venue for starlit drinks and tall stories.
Little Mombo’s swimming pool is surrounded by a deck and features a convenient poolside bar, and you can relax on the day beds in the shade of the sala.
As part of the Bush Buddy programme, youngsters can assist in the camp kitchen with simple, safe tasks, enjoy child-friendly bush walks and new moves with drumming or dancing lessons.
Wake up to a light continental breakfast before your morning game drive and enjoy a wholesome brunch afterwards when you have had time to work up an appetite. An extravagant and delicious afternoon tea is served before your afternoon safari activity.
The evening’s three-course dinner is often served around the fire in the outdoor boma under the stars, but meals at Little Mombo are a movable feast and can be served in a number of creative, out-of-camp locations.
- Game drives.

Little Mombo Camp Reviews
“Had an exceptional two night visit to Little Mombo. Preferred the 3 tent arrangement here to main Mombo but either would be excellent. The hospitality with manager Graham could not have been better. He was very knowledgeable about the concession and always present to engage us.
The game drives at Mombo were the best we had in the Delta. Cisco was the best guide we had on our trip; extremely knowledgeable and competent.” – Boomer_from_Boulder
“Wonderful camp. Visited in July and it was cold. Staff and guides were great. Lots of game. Saw game everyday. Tents were great, each one looked over wetland. Had a great feeling about it.” – Tennn
“WOW. We have been to Botswana, and indeed to Mombo before, but this trip took us beyond our expectations in countless ways, starting with the spectacular accommodations – the essence of simple luxury tinged with a little decadence made for a very comfortable stay. The wildlife was amazing – we had excellent sightings of lion, leopard, hyena, giraffe, elephant, and zebra.” – margymac
