Hyena Pan Tented Camp is a tranquil tented camp in private concession area NG18 better known as Khwai.

The concession area borders the Moremi National Park and the Khwai River in the South and the Chobe National Park to the East. Hyena Pan Tented Camp is positioned 12km’s North of the Khwai river, within Cathedral Mopane forrest overlooking a natural Mopane Pan.

The pan is a constant water supply to many species of birds and animals year round, the rains in December to March flood the area creating an enormous water feature encouraging Hippo, Elephant and Buffalo and an exceptional array of water birds, as the pan shrinks from March through to late November we pump water to the pan from our close by borehole.

The water from the borehole is slightly salty with high mineral content, a big attraction to the resident game and bird species in the concession. The pan is a hive of activity year round.

Hyena Pan Tented Camp Reviews

“What an amazing experience. On the way in we wondered if we were in the right place it is a long drive in with no signage but Barbara and Bruce greeted us as family They were amazing, really enjoyed them joining us for meals so we can learn more.” – swoopbns

“We stayed at this tented camp as part of a group tour in September 15. It is truly one of the most memorable places we have ever stayed in. We will long remember sitting on the shady deck watching elephants visiting the water-hole which was right next to us.” – davidandjane51

“We had the pleasure to stay 3 nights at Hyena Pan Tented Camp during our Botswana tour. These were – by far – the most enjoyable nights of the entire trip which took us 15 days through Botswana and Zimbabwe. The tents are incredibly spacious, including a full-sized twin bed, a charging station for your electronics (great idea!) and leave enough room.” – GuenterD1980
