Overview and Accommodation
There are two Footsteps camps, both in spectacular and untamed areas of Botswana – both must see regions: The first Footsteps Camp is in a remote part of the Okavango Delta and the second is found in the magnificent Linyanti swamps. Accommodation in the camps is in spacious Meru-style tents with comfortable twin beds. All tents are furnished with en-suite facilities, hot water filled bucket showers and porcelain flush toilet
Each of the 3 twin guest tents at Footsteps Camp are insect-proof and comes with a bucket shower, private bush bathroom and sewn-in floor. All the tents at the camp can be provided with 24-hour hot water on request.

Footsteps Across the delta
At Footsteps Across The Delta (walking safari) you enter one of the great, untamed regions of Africa: the spectacular Okavango Delta. Experience the astonishing contrasts created when the mighty Okavango River flows into the arid Kalahari Desert – the result is a variety of habitats, riverine forest, palm islands, permanent swamps and dry sandveld all with an unparalleled wealth of animal diversity. This safari maintains the elegance and eccentricity of the original ‘under canvas African safari’. The emphasis is on exploring this breathtakingly beautiful and diverse environment as the first African explorers did, either by Mokoro (dependent on water levels) or on foot.
Footsteps Camp Reviews
“We had stayed at more “upscale” tented camps prior to our arrival at Footsteps so we were unsure what to expect. The tents are great, bucket showers whenever you want them and the food is terrific. Our guide, Mozeeh, was great – knowledgeable, fun, could take a joke, etc. The staff are all amazing there and we really enjoyed our stay.” – notacritic
“We stayed at Footsteps after staying at two other very nice safari camps. We really didn’t miss having electricity and the food was fabulous, all cooked on a wood fire. Having the hippos in the neighboring pool pass through camp on their way to feed at night was amazing. Being able to see animals (lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, baboons and many birds) while out on a walk was a really special experience.” – JJPolisky
“Footsteps is a wonderful way to experience a safari. The camp is the only one in a private concession area so you see no other travellers and are not restricted to staying on the road as you are in the parks. The facilities are basic but excellent and the staff wonderful. We have two kids (11 and 13) who loved it. Our guide Moses was great fun and Prescilla the manager was lovely as were all the staff.” – Mark L
