Chobe Game Lodge is the only permanent accommodation in Botswana’s magnificent Chobe National Park.
Chobe Game Lodge’s elegant architecture is informed by Moorish design, its high arches and barrel-vault ceilings create a sense of simple grandeur. All 47, air-conditioned rooms overlook the Chobe River, which supports the world’s densest population of Kalahari elephants along with large herds of buffalo and zebra.
Spend your days seeking out the Big 5, exploring the land by vehicle and the river by boat – either option promises you exciting wildlife encounters. You may even spot the rare aquatic Red Lechwe, or the indigenous Chobe Bushbuck. The abundant game supports an equally healthy population of predators, including large resident populations of lion, leopard, wild dog and cheetah.
Lavish, yet with an authentic African feel, Chobe Game lodge offers a true bush experience all while not sacrificing comfort. Rooms range from luxury to standard and a family unit, making this accommodation perfect for every tourist.

Chobe Game Lodge is designed with peace and privacy in mind – a place where guests can relax and enjoy their own space. With six comfortably furnished viewing decks, a riverside boma, two bars, six different lounges and four dining locations, it is easy to understand why our guests effortlessly find their own space and just enjoy the environment!
Mealtimes are an important part of the Chobe Game Lodge experience, with everything from a delectable stir-fry evening or a roast carvery to a mouth-watering three-course a la carte menu to look forward to.
There are three safari activities on offer every day. Stays at Chobe Game Lodge are fully inclusive, so you are welcome to do as little or as much as you please. Our morning safari starts with a cup of tea or coffee and a freshly baked muffin on the veranda with the mist rising over the river in the background. Birdcalls echo around the gardens to herald the dawn.
Because Chobe Game Lodge is situated within the Chobe National Park we set off just as the gates to the park open, which means we are out and about before any other visitors to the park. We drive along the river looking out for fresh tracks – there is always evidence of predator activity in the early mornings and our experienced guides are able to interpret the bush signs and track the animals that left them. The thrill of finding spoor and tracking game must be experienced to be appreciated and being the first observers at a special sighting is very exciting. Elephant encounters are common and huge herds of buffalo abound. The ever-present impala and the majestic giraffe are everywhere. The peace and tranquility of game viewing in the early morning is a perfect way to start the day.
On return from the game drive and after a hearty breakfast, you can watch the animals begin to come down to the river, or spot wildlife across the floodplains on a mid-morning safari boat cruise. After lunch and a rest there is a choice of afternoon game drives or sunset safari cruises. Game viewing reaches its peak as the heat of the afternoon draws the elephant and other wildlife to the river. Don’t miss the safari cruise for the most spectacular sunsets on earth!
Chobe Game Lodge Reviews
“This is my all-time favourite lodge in Africa. It has everything; from close vicinity to big game, magnificent birds in the immaculate gardens, superb cuisine, outstanding service and attention to detail.” –harold h
“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chobe Game Preserve. The staff was eager to please. And they did. The accommodations were extremely comfortable. The Veranda was the place I took my afternoon naps on the lounge beds. The boat tours allowed us to see Hippos and alligators up close. Seeing the various birds on the shoreline was a treat.” –pipaduplitt
“It was a truly wonderful experience – luxury accommodation in the middle of a game reserve. The game drives were excellent – we saw many memorable things, including four lions stalking and hunting a kudu (it actually got away to everyone’s surprise!). The game ranger (Lynne) was extremely knowledgeable and friendly (all rangers at Chobe seem to be women, which is remarkable!). Would highly recommend it. Toronto, Canada.” –Michael L
