Tuskers Bush Camp takes its guests to a bygone era of adventure in the African wild

Tuskers Bush Camp takes its guests to a bygone era of adventure in the African wild where old-world canvas Meru safari tents add comfort and style to this traditional ‘under-canvas’ experience. Tuskers is nestled in the vast Kwatale Conservancy on the eastern border of Moremi Game Reserve. There are no fences in this wild area, allowing animals of all sorts to wander as they please. The pan in front of Tuskers Bush Camp is frequented by plains game and the Big 5, all of which can be seen from the main area of the camp.

It is important to note that Tuskers is only accessible in a 4×4 vehicle and the driver should have some 4×4 experience. Botswana’s park roads can be challenging with varying amounts of thick sand, as well as deep pools of water during the rainy season. Should guests enter Moremi Game Reserve (or any other national reserve), park fees are payable in cash at the gate: P120 per person per day and P50 per vehicle per day. Guests are reminded to please present their reservation summary/voucher to the official on duty upon entering the park.

Accommodation

6 Meru-style canvas safari tents are located between the evergreen mopane trees, looking out into the veld and offering guests seclusion and privacy during their stay. En suite bathrooms comply with the sustainable construction of the camp, with heated bucket showers and eco bush toilets.

The main dining tent, boma, and bar overlook a waterhole, and the free-flow of animals around the unfenced camp creates a wild and untamed ambience throughout. Tuskers is a true canvas bush camp with added luxuries and an emphasis on its sublime location.

Meru-style Safari Tents

6 Meru-style safari tents are individually positioned between the trees, offering privacy and tranquil views of the wilderness to a maximum of 8 guests. Tall mopane trees provide shade throughout the camp, while each tent has a canvas overhang in front to create a shaded verandah.

Each tent sleeps two people and has an en suite bathroom with a bucket shower, eco-toilet, and simple bathroom vanity complete with complimentary soap, shampoo and lotion for added comforts.

A drop-down canvas flap can be closed between the bathroom and bedroom to offer privacy, while the windows and front entrance of the tent are shielded with bug-proof mesh screens and canvas flaps.
